Did I Tell You...

I got to go to the beach!!
Yep, I did!!

this is mom's desktop picture...
Last month, mom and me met mom's friend and her dog Wizard at the beach up by Santa Barbara.

Wizard is a "career change" guide dog for the blind.  That means he had a little bit of separation anxiety and couldn't become a guide dog because they have to be perfect like Brandon's gonna be.
But that was the best thing because Wizard became like his mom's therapy dog when she got very bad sickies a few years back.  He stayed with her and loved her and helped her stay focused on getting better and he made those nasty leukemia cells go away!!

Wizard's on the left, flirting with some random girl...

Wizard is a goldendoodle like

He loved the ocean like crazy!!

He was all zooming in and out of the water and chasing his bumper thingy.  Sheesh!

Why work so hard??

Besides, like I said, it was like the middle of last month and it was like 98 degrees!!

I had to carry the freaking camera bag...
Look at me.  I'm a mess...
Actually, I did get my paws wet, but was not interested in all that running and fetching and everything, even though Wizard was a really nice guy.

The cool part was that Wizard wore himself out, so I got to go to a "dog friendly" restaurant for lunch and I got to lay on the patio and get admired
while Wizard napped in his car :-)

Of course SHE didn't take the camera to the restaurant.

This is the desktop picture on the yaptop...

We're going to go again now that it's cooler.

Sending Rottie Kisses,

Love,

-Bart

What a fun day you had with your friend, Wizard! I can see that he loved the ocean like crazy.

The beach looks really good but the waves look a bit scary to me! I don't mind getting my pawsies wet but definitely not my beautiful coat!

That looks cool. I have never been to the beach. But I have to admit I am a little afraid of the water, don't like to get in much past my ankles.
MOM LOVES the camera carring pic. She laughed out loud.

What a fun day for you and Wizard. We haven't taken our dogs to the beach because they are pretty much ranch dogs and may not listen so well with all those new smells. But I like to go and take photos. Carrying the camera is a very important job, you should be proud.

Awesome! The labradorks around here are dreaming of going to the beach.... it'll be a few months before it's spring like enough here to be able to!

Well done on being restrained and behaved enough to go to a restaurant!!

Bart, that is an amazing beach. But good choice not to go chasing around in the ocean waves. Just between you and me, I think waves are a bit scary, after all you never know when a big one will appear out of nowhere and knock you off your paws.

Cool that you got to go to the dog friendly restaurant and be admired. We are hoping that the admiration was expressed in a tangible, foodable form!

The beach! What fun! Must say, if you're carrying camera bits it's probably best you stayed out of the water. :)

Bart, being on the beach suits you! Of course the most interesting dog in the world would draw a crowd at a restaurant. You probably entertained them all with fabulous stories, too!

Wizard is the first black Goldendoodle I've seen! Very cool! I'm glad he found the perfect job.

But Bart, the water would cool you down when it's so hot. It's hard for us to stay out of the water except Tsar who hides at the thought of getting wet. We think you and Tsar would get along really good.

Hi Y'all,

I just don't understand why you don't like the ocean, Bart. That would have been great fun...besides my Human says there are no alligators in the ocean.

Suka said...

hey Bart,

Your beach looks like fun! I was at the ocean once, in San Francisco, but the loud waves scared me. Yes, I am an Alpha Male, so don't laugh, but I am a snow dog and not used to water and crashing, booming waves. So I think you did the smart thing to take it easy and just wet your paws. Wizard looks like he is having a blast, though! What a pretty pup! And I am furry happy to read how he helped his mom heal from her sickies. Yay!

That is furry cool you were admired at a dog-friendly restaurant. Such a handsome pup like you, it makes sense!

Suka

p.s. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Those therapy dogs who help their humans when they're sick are wonderful! Way to go, Wizard!

It looks like you had a blast! I had to smile - I'd never trust my dog with a camera. A Lab can't stay out of the water so the camera would be submerged in salt water!

Have fun on your next visit to the beach, Bart!
