Thank You, Furiends...

Hi Everybody!!

Bart here with an update.  First though, thank you all so much for your healing vibes, POTP and prayers.  Between that and my acupuncture, I'm feeling the betterment.  I'm a little more mobile.  It's not the walking, it's the getting up and down.  But yesterday was better.  Until the STOOPID dogs next door got into our back, back yard, and Otto and I had to guard and I fell down (it was SO embarrassing) and I had to be helped up.  URGH...  Butt I rested all day and this morning I'm pretty chipper.

One of the things that's been really sucky this summer is that our stream is dried up.  We hardly had any rain last winter and Riley's dad said they might be cleaning out the dam way up the canyon...butt LOOK AT THIS:

Me in the same spot last summer:

This is our closest, easiest walk and it's just been too hot to go there...and anyway WHY??  What's the point??  As you know if you've been following us for a while, I LOVE just standing in the water and letting it whoosh by me.  It feels really good.  So I haven't been having my short walk and hydrotherapy sessions for a few months.  Just boring neighborhood walks.

So anyway, thanks again for all your good thoughts.  I get another Adequan shot on Friday.  Mom gives 'em to me and neither of us even flinch!  Dr. Sarah is giving me some herbies, too.  I'm gonna try really hard not to fall down today.  It's pretty embarrassing.  Butt now that RUBY has outed me to all of Blogville, I might as well fess up and talk about all this.  You are my furiends, after all...

BTW, my LABwork was all normal!!

Thanks, efurrybody.  He only yelled at me a little, and then he said he could feel the POTP working on him and he THANKED me for getting the word out - so thanks...  -Ruby

Bart, what a shame you do not live in Scotland, where water is NEVER in short supply. Oh and we know all about that falling over business - my human grandad is so very unsteady on his pins these days, he is always toppling over. Best do what he does and forget it ever happened at all.

Glad to hear about the labwork! Morgan says she gets those adequin shots too and they help her a lot. She also says don't worry about the falling down and needing an assist. It happens and that's what Mom's are there for, plus reaching the cookies.

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! That is horrible that your stream is gone! The cool water must have felt nice on your body. I hope it comes back soon...

Bart this is good to hear. Shouldn't feel embarrassed, not at all. Now... when will your mom be getting you your own hot tub/whirlpool contraption? If the creek is not going to be running, you need an alternate. Let Otto do the guarding and you can just bark. Ann TBL

You should be here in Portlandia where the water constantly flows, Bart. I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have a river or two to play in.

Glad you're feeling better and don't worry about that falling down stuff--it happens to the best of us.

And good to see all your rottie butts again! Bart, I'll dedicate my morning walk to your continued improvement...

But it's all good. I just pretend it never happened and there's nobody here to rat me out (Ruby!!!)

Oh Bart, both our Raja and Mango would have known just what you are talking about. Getting up was so hard for them and if they cornered too fast they would just tumble (in fact Mango sometimes tried to lift his leg to pee on a little incline and he would fall and roll down like a log). I sure hope that you continue to feel better. The underwater treadmill did wonders for Mango (but I think what he really liked was the post treadmill massage).

Kisses,
Dexter

Oh Bart - I feel so bad that I'm so late with my comment & healing slobbers - we're only finally catching up on blog friends this weekend. I can really relate to what you said, though, coz my back legs have started getting weak too and my humans have noticed it and are worried about it - but at my age, and with my heart condition which means I can't do too much exercise, it's sort of a vicious circle of muscles getting weaker & weaker.

Anyway, we really hope that you'll continue to feel better! And we hope your beautiful natural personal swimming pool comes back soon!!

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
