{This Moment} See Beautiful

We're joining this monthly blog hop sponsored by Sugar the Golden Retriever that encourages us to share moments of beauty and inspiration from our day-to-day lives.  It will occur every second Friday of the month.  The next one is Friday, July 13th.  Sugar has made this badge:

We try to appreciate some piece of beauty in Nature every day.  It soothes us, calms us, refreshes us.  It helps put things into perspective.

As you may know, The Publicist is CRAZY about Yuccas.

Since we had very little rain this winter and then quite a bit in April and May, the Yuccas seemed to just appear over night.  The Publicist (whom we pay to provide publicity FOR US) went a little coo-coo with the Yucca pictures this year.  Here are some of them:

and from several years ago... Mr. Gizmo:

We think the light was different this year, probably because the Yucca bloomed later in the year.  They often come in late March and April.  This year they came in May.  Truly a gift bathed in golden light!

See ya next month!!

Love,

-Bart and Ruby

Gorgeous pictures. Even the ones without the dogs. Sometimes you just have to stop and look around you to realise you're surrounded by beauty.

Those yuccas are beautiful! We don't have anything like that here, so I'm really glad you shared them with us. I think you definitely showed us the most beautiful part of where you live (and the most interesting)!

When momma first moved to the high desert from Chicago, she thought she was going to be horribly homesick for the rich greenness of her birthplace. Instead she has, with our help, learned to see the amazing geometry and incredible will to survive that makes her new home fiercely beautiful. Your publicist has captured that feeling in her photos.

Oh my, those plants are so rare and beautiful! I haven't seen anything like them at all but I remember I saw the yucca that you posted last year. You live in a beautiful place and you can see mountains and mountains. I'm so jealous!

Now those really are serious Yuccas! Love the scenery too. Deccy x

hey Bart and Ruby,

Beautiful! Your Publicist really knows how to showcase the beauty of the awesome Yucca plant! We have a small Yucca in our yard, and it grows the tall stalks with white flowers.

My favorite Yucca photos, though, are the ones with the beautiful Rotties in them!

Oh those photos are amazing and beautiful and so totally different from anything we see in our part of the world. And yes, the final one with you two posing so handsomely in the low light is stunning too.
Thanks for brightening up our morning by transporting us, if just for a moment, to a sunnier, more exotic world.

People don't often think of the desert being beautiful - they think dry and hot - but it really can be stunning what you find - if you just take the time to look and your photos prove that

Wow, that is a lot of beauty. Yuccas are such odd plants, but once I got used to them, I came to love them. Your photos really highlight their beauty.

I always love photos of Gizmo. Thanks.

I've not spent much time in the desert, but if I ever do, I'll have to plan it when I can see it 'bloom like a rose.' Your world is so beautiful!!

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!!

I planted some Yuccas about 11 years ago which a girlfriend had grown and potted up and given me. Last summer they flowered for the very first time and were a sight to behold. I had people taking photos of them even:) The flowers were like those in your second to bottom photo. If I want some to flower in our new home I'd better plant some soon:) 'Your' yuccas are beautiful. What a delight it must be to have such a gorgeous, huge backyard:)
