The Volunteer

The place where we walk is pretty much a floodplain.  Our stream flows down the canyon from those hills back there.  When it rains heavily like it has this year our creek becomes more like a river and rises pretty high, washing out landscaping on it's way down to the valley below.

You can see how rocky and barren it can be...

And then we found these!!

Just growing up out of the sand, bright and beautiful; just celebrating that Spring is here in our wash...

Happy Spring, Everybody!!

We also wanted to thank our Black and Brown furiends at Terrors on Four Paws for recognizing us with the Kreativ Blogger Award!  Thanks so much Jack, Kaiser and Farrusquinho!!

We'd like to pass it along to:
Asta
RA HUSKY
Roo
Anna the GSD and
Romping and Rolling in the Rockies
all of whom are extremely 'Kreativ' in their own way!

Bye for now,
Gizmo, Bart and Ruby

What a lovely surprise to come across some beautiful Gazania's in flower. I love them and have a few in my so called garden!

That's an awesome place to walk. It looks lovely and warm and dry and the creek is such a bonus. We're going into Winter here and I don't want to think about it! I'd rather sit here and look at your lovely photos than take my kids down to the park for their walk in the cold wind and possible rain:(

Gazanias - I haven't seen them in such a long time - they grow EVERYWHERE back home in Australia (they tend to be a bit of weed sometimes). You will see more and more of them as they seed easily. Looks like a great walk you had

Oh how beautiful the flowers bloom in the barren rocks. Yes, I know, this year even the desert bloom beautifully. There was and finally rain. But unfortunately, many storms.

Congratulations on the award!

No, my aunt you can not take a walk. It is also quite old, a former soldier bride. 1946 moved to the U.S.. I fly every year to her for her to make a few nice days. She has no relatives in the United States. She lives in the desert near Victorville.
I guess you live so about 100-150 miles north-west.
I am in this much time traveling alone by car. Like to ride in the Ontario Mall for shopping.
Lots of love
