Bart's Birthday Comment-a-thon!!


Yep!  Tomorrow's my birthday
and
I'm gonna be 7!!

Woo-Hoo!!

  (She always captures my best side!)

So please help me celebrate my birthday weekend by leaving us a comment.  If it makes us smile, or BOL that would be great because this birthday is a little
bittersweet for me.  

I'm the serious one and Gizmo always had a smile on his face.  I miss him so much because there's no one to tell me what to do in the way that he did...

to help a furiend of ours have some surgery before he goes to his forever home.

    Happy Birthday, Bart!!! We understand the bittersweet part. Our first two labs were brothers, littermates. One of them went to the Bridge when he was 2 years old...

    But, before that, I played a great joke on the Runner. The two brothers looked truly identical, although we could tell them apart if needed. Usually, we counted on their collar colors to tell us who was who.

    Well, one morning, when the Runner wasn't looking, I switched their collars. He took the pair out for a run, and was completely flummoxed when the wrong dog always came when he called the other one! He'd yell "Rover, Come", and the blue-collared dog would come rather than the red-collared Rover. The Runner eventually figured it out... but it was one of my best pranks ever!

    The surviving brother lived to be 16 years old. I hope that you live such a long and loving life, Bart. I'm so sorry that you miss your sweet brother, Gizmo. We miss him too.

    Happy Birthday mate! Was gonna tell you something funny about me, but Mum said you might like a funny Rottie story!
    Many years ago Mum found herself part time step mum to a wonderful male Rottie called Xerberus. She'd never met one before but he completely stole her heart. She says he was the most obedient dog with perfect manners (yeah yeah, whatever....) One day she took him to the lake and he went swimming as usual. Mum saw that he had found a car tyre in the water and as he scrambled out she called him over, thinking she could roll the tyre for him to chase. As ever, Xerbie came right away and as he approached Mum shouted the command "drop it" which of course he did, right on Mum's foot. It was then that she realised it wasn't a tyre, but a whole car wheel, which he had carried as if it was light as a feather! Mum spent several weeks with her foot in plaster. She can laugh about it now though! Hehe! Deccy x
