Good-by, Handsome Gizmo

Gizmo told us last night that it was time to go to the bridge.  Our stoic dog told us that the pain was too much.  Osteosarcoma sucks.

  1. My heart lurched when I saw your title. Gizmo will be missed so very much - most of all by you but by all of us too. I could tell from so far away how deeply you loved him and that you gave him a wonderful life. We hope that Gizmo is running free, with no pain, and is watching over you from up high.

My eyes are filled with tears. That evil cancer stole Gizmo far too soon. But, Gizmo will live on forever in your heart - I know that for certain.

Many hugs from me, K and R.

  2. All my heartfelt condolences to Gizmo's pack. Such a beautiful rottie! Not a day will go by that you don't think of your handsome boy and all the fun you had together.

Thank you for sharing your pack with us. I do love rotties but never had one of my own, so I love to hear stories about your pack.

Blessings, Gizmo and to the whole family,

  20. Words fail me...Saying that I'm sorry just doesn't seem like enough because I know the ache your heart is feeling at the loss of your precious Gizmo. Even though he wasn't my dog, I feel almost as if he was because you shared him with all of us. There's a well known saying... 'Death is never sad, if the gift of life has been well used'. I know Gizmo's life was 'well used' but I feel very very sad for you and your family and for all of us at this loss. I hope you find comfort in your memories and in knowing that you'll see Gizmo again one day, and what a wonderful day that will be!!

God speed Gizmo. Our candle will be lit to help you find your way to the Rainbow Bridge...

  55. OHHHH!! This is heartbreaking... I just heard this morning from Mango, and I instantly felt the sadness welling up. He was truly a great dog.

Comfort yourselves with knowing that you loved him deeply and shared him with us, who loved him deeply too. And, you listened when it was time and were brave enough to do the most difficult thing of all- say goodbye. Know that he's at the Bridge with a great crew (my Mortimer for one), waiting.

Run pain free Mr. Gizmo. We all love you.

  118. I'm so sorry to hear that you lost Gizmo. Osteosarcoma definitely sucks. I'm sure Gizmo knows how much you love him and he'll be watching over you all.

  119. Read about Gizmo on Eva's blog. Cancer is such a horrible disease. I lost my feamle Sheltie in 2010 to mast cell cancer, she had only just turned 7 when she passed over to the Bridge.

    God Speed Gizmo.

  128. When you left the comment on my post, and I didn't see Gizmo signing off, I had the most terrible feeling and I just didn't quite dare to come and see if my gut feeling was right.

I am terribly, terribly sorry to see that Gizmo has left for the rainbow bridge. It certainly sucks to have to say goodbye (even if it's temporarily) to one of our furry pals eh?

Keeping all of you in my thoughts. Sending lots of loving licks and cuddles your way.

  129. I'm so sorry for your loss. My Jersey and Leo will make sure he's okay. They were suckers for a cute male Rottie nubbin. You will know when it's time to open your heart to another.

Til then hug your furry kids close, let their kisses dry your tears, and remember Gizmo will always be with you.
